Hobsons Bay City Council is currently seeking Expressions of Interest from artists and/or art collectives for Woods Street Arts Space Front Gallery’s exhibition program.
Woods Street Arts Space is a multi-purpose creative venue that offers a complimentary space for community groups and creatives to host workshops, art exhibitions and other events for individuals of all ages, abilities and backgrounds. A new component of Woods Street Arts Space’s programming is to offer a free exhibition opportunity for creatives. The Front Gallery will showcase four to six exhibitions each year. We want to hear from artists who would like to activate the gallery space in interesting and creative ways and would like to have a public programming component to complement their exhibition.
We strongly encourage applications from the following communities: People with a connection to Hobsons Bay, First Nations, People of Colour, d/Deaf, Disabled, and neurodivergent, LGBTQIA+ and people from lower income or marginalised backgrounds.

The EOI must:
- Clearly demonstrate how the project addresses the selection criteria
- Include images/videos of artwork or work in progress
- Current CV and short biography of artist or collective (one page per artist)
- Concept for a public program or community engagement project
Applicants must review the Front Gallery's Artists Exhibition Brief and Terms & Conditions documents prior to completing their application.
